Make sure your identification document copies are correctly certified by an appropriate person!
Certified copies...
If your documents are not in order it may mean that your application is delayed or even rejected.
A simple and common mistake is having copies of your identification and certain pages of your contracts incorrectly certified.
Certified copy
A true copy of an original document that has been sighted and certified by an authorised person* and noted as follows:
Step 1) Copy your I.D. (Passport and Licence).
Step 2) Take your I.D. and the photocopies to an authorised person*.
This person must WRITE or RUBBER STAMP the following statement on the copy:
I certify that I have sighted the original document and this is a true copy of it.
Again, this certification must have either written or stamped on the document:
- The certifier's FULL name
- The certifier's title
- The certifier's occupation* (eg: Pharmacist, Police Constable etc...)
-
The certifier's registration number (where applicable eg: Constable Number)
- The certifier's phone number
- The certifier's street address and suburb
- The certification must also be signed and dated
*An authorised person includes a legal practitioner, Justice of the Peace (JP), Magistrate, notary public, police officer, dentist, veterinary practitioner, pharmacist, Certified Practising Accountant, Member of Parliament, a minister of religion, medical practitioner and officers of the SRO.
